What's New This Year Photo of Erie's Bayfront Convention Center

The most exciting news about the 2007 Christmas Ball is its new location! The event will be held at Erie's new Bayfront Convention Center. This longstanding Erie holiday tradition - and the largest fundraiser on the Barber National Institute calendar - will be held amid the exquisite vistas and stylish surroundings of the newly opened facilities.

The Christmas Ball Committee promises to keep many of the features that have made the dance a popular favorite, while adding some new touches to take advantage of the waterfront location. Guests will appreciate this year's innovations as soon as they drive up to the Convention Center. Complimentary valet parking will again be provided, and revelers can step from their cars onto ice-free, heated walkways leading up to the spacious entry way.

The Decorating Committee is working to transform the Convention Center's Great Hall into a spectacular holiday wonderland using this year's colors of midnight blue, pewter and copper.

The Bayfront Convention Center is the sole provider for refreshments for the event. All guests will be treated to delicious hors d'oeurves, soft drinks and water that will be available throughout the evening, as well as to three complimentary cocktails (cash bar also available).

Several time-honored traditions will also continue at the Ball. Guests will receive a program book listing the generous donors who have contributed to the Christmas Ball, as well as a commemorative ornament designed with this year's theme.

Erie's most popular variety band, Tennessee Backporch, will again be performing their wide repertoire of music, ranging from pop, swing and holiday favorites, from 9 pm- 1 am.

And of course the mission of the Christmas Ball remains as it was since it began more than four decades ago: to help make dreams come true!
