PNC Donation Funds Scholarships

PNC Bank recently presented a $15,000 donation to the Dr. Gertrude A. Barber National Institute through the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program. The donation will be used to fund scholarships for children to attend preschool throughout Erie County.

During the 2008-09 school year, 68 families in the region received preschool scholarships totaling $62, 130.

Contributions to the EITC program can also be directed to the school-age program at the Elizabeth Lee Black School to fund technology, adaptive equipment and other services for students with disabilities.

The EITC program offers businesses a substantial tax credit for their donations, which in turn help children in need in our community.
